world with flags and facebook connect logo

There are various times you will need a list of locale codes for use in website code for localisation.  If, for example, you’re adding a Facebook like button, Activity Feed, Recommendations, Login Button, Facepile, Live stream or comments system from the Facebook developers site and want a language OTHER than English, you will come across the text:

"How do I display the Like button in different languages? If you are using the XFBML version include the language code when you instantiate the library. Replace ‘en_US’ in this line with the correct locale code:", but what you won't see are the codes."

Here is a list of language local codes for HTML, XTML and XFBML (or anywhere you need language local code).
