How to use Rockettheme Rokbox in a Joomla module without additional plugins.

Rockettheme Rokbox in a Joomla module

If you try and use the rokbox syntax (code) in a Joomla module you will either get an error, or the rokbox code will show up on the front end of your site. Here is how to make rokbox work in a Joomla module:

Before we start you will need to turn off the editor in global configurations. Log on to your joomla back end and click Site>Global Configuration. Under "Default WYSIWYG Editor", choose "Editor- No Editor" and click the save icon.

Because the Rokbox syntax doesn't work, we need some other code, we need good old HTML. Rather than bore you with the details (it took me ages to solve this), here is the correct html code (not the rokbox syntax) you will need to put in a Joomla module for Rokbox to work (just change the text in UPPER CASE with the correct details for your site):

<a title="PUT YOUR TITLE BETWEEN THESE QUOTES" rel="rokbox(demo)" href="/PUT THE URL OF THE LINK YOU WANT HERE">
<img class="album" width="300" height="500" alt="PUT ALTERNATIVE (ALT) TEXT HERE" src="/PUT THE PATH TO YOU THUMBNAIL HERE">
</a>

Note: change the width and height number to match your thumbnail size.

It's actually pretty basic HTML, just change it to reflect your rokbox settings, save it, and voila! problem solved: rockbox in a module with plugins!

Work for you?

After a lot of Head-banging and resulted in making no headway, I stumbled upon the above cited tutorial published by yourself, and it worked like a charm, your explaining is extremely easy to understand, thank you very much.

Now I want to achieve - How will it be possible to get/display a Joomla module in Rockettheme RokBox (Modal window) ?
As in (lets say) I am trying to display the Joomla "Who's Online" module being displayed when an Image is clicked making use of Rockettheme's RokBox plugin.

Many thanks in advance for all the help smilies/smiley.gif
